Pegasus Crossing commissioned

This crossing was installed many years ago as part of the local development but not made to work. Last week, Central Bedfordshire Council finally commissioned the Pegasus crossing on Thorn Road, Houghton Regis. It is near a new Amazon distribution centre, whose car park you can see in the background. Vehicles travel along here above the 30mph speed limit, so this should make crossing the road safer for riders and walkers.

Whilst this is good news we are still missing two other vital links, one is a crossing on Chalk Hill over the A505 (former A5) to Sewell Lane and the upgrade of a footpath to bridleway from Thorn farm over the A5 bridge (built to BW standard) across to join the existing BW near the B5120. I am still lobbying CBC to move both these projects forward. More information on each on the Bedfordshire page.

I do not post many news items here, most appear on Icknield Way Path News but this one seems of particular interest to riders.
