Noon’s Folly Farm

  • Signa at BW junction

The Icknield Way riders route at the south end New Road, Melbourn crosses the A505, which is a very busy road.  In 1992 the landowner on the south of the A505 agreed to a permissive bridleway.  We are very grateful to the landowner to avoid the need to ride along the A505.  The existence of the permissive bridleway No. 20 to the east of Noon’s Folly farm was confirmed with Cambridgeshire CC in April 2012.  In June 2021 it is still shown on the Cambridgeshire map as a permissive bridleway. As shown on the red dashes of the diagram below

These rather old leaflets give details of the Icknield Way riders route: Countryside Commission Leaflet 2 Telegraph Hill, Hertfordshire to Great Chesterford/Cow Lane, Essex (~7MB file), and Countryside Commission Leaflet 3  Balsham Wood, Cambridgeshire to Roundham Heath, Norfolk (~2.7MB file)
